A second full-length exam should do more than repeat the first. This one deliberately reaches into the parts of the service map that candidates revise last — analytics, AI/ML, hybrid storage and networking — because the real CLF-C02 names them too. You are not asked to use these services, only to recognise what each one is for. If several here were unfamiliar, you have found a genuine gap.

Recognition, not depth

The Cloud Practitioner tests breadth at a recognition level. You will not configure Kinesis or train a SageMaker model; you will be asked which service fits a described need. So the skill is matching a one-line scenario to the right name — “analyse images without a model” is Rekognition, “SQL on data in S3” is Athena, “connect many VPCs through a hub” is Transit Gateway. Read for the job the scenario describes and pick the service built for it.

Reading your result

A full-length exam is only useful if you read the outcome properly:

  • Total against 700. There is no per-domain pass, so the total is what determines a pass — but it hides where your risk is.
  • Score per domain. This is where the value is. Misses that cluster in one domain name exactly what to study next.
  • The 85% signal. If you are not comfortably above the pass mark under real conditions, you are not ready — a single good run near the line is not enough.
  • The wrong-answer test. For each question, can you say why the other three options were wrong? If not, you recognised an answer rather than understood one.

How to use the questions below

Answer each one before you reveal the explanation, and when you miss, read past the correct letter to why the other three fail. Then be honest about your coverage: this set is wider than any topic page on purpose. The full timed 65-question exams, with a scaled score and per-domain analytics, are in the course — and the Am I ready? self-check turns all of this into a single go/no-go decision before you book.

How to read a full-length practice-exam result: check the total against the 700 pass mark, look at the score per domain to find the weakest, apply the 85 percent readiness signal, and for each question confirm you can say why the wrong options were wrong.

CLF-C02 Question 1 of 10

A company wants to add image recognition to its app without building or training a machine-learning model. Which service fits?

Answer: A — Amazon Rekognition

Amazon Rekognition provides ready-made image and video analysis — no model to build. Why not the others: SageMaker is for building and training your own models. Comprehend analyses text. Polly turns text into speech. Pre-built image recognition is Rekognition.

CLF-C02 Question 2 of 10

Which service is used to build, train and deploy your own machine-learning models?

Answer: A — Amazon SageMaker

Amazon SageMaker is the service for building, training and deploying custom machine-learning models. Why not the others: Rekognition (images), Comprehend (text) and Lex (chatbots) are pre-built AI services you consume, not platforms for training your own models. Build-your-own-model is SageMaker.

CLF-C02 Question 3 of 10

A team wants to run standard SQL queries directly on data stored in Amazon S3, without first loading it into a database. Which service fits?

Answer: A — Amazon Athena

Amazon Athena lets you query data in S3 using standard SQL, with no servers to manage and nothing to load first. Why not the others: RDS is a managed relational database you load data into. Redshift is a data warehouse you load and model. Glue is an ETL service for preparing data. Querying S3 in place with SQL is Athena.

CLF-C02 Question 4 of 10

Which service collects and processes real-time streaming data, such as clickstreams or IoT telemetry?

Answer: A — Amazon Kinesis

Amazon Kinesis ingests and processes real-time streaming data at scale. Why not the others: Athena queries data at rest in S3. SQS is a message queue for decoupling components, not a streaming analytics service. Glue is batch ETL. Real-time streams are Kinesis.

CLF-C02 Question 5 of 10

A company wants its on-premises applications to use AWS storage seamlessly, keeping frequently used data cached locally. Which service provides this hybrid storage?

Answer: A — AWS Storage Gateway

AWS Storage Gateway connects on-premises environments to AWS storage, caching hot data locally for low-latency access — a hybrid bridge. Why not the others: S3 Glacier is an archival storage class. Snowball physically ships bulk data once. EFS is a shared file system within AWS. Ongoing hybrid on-prem-to-AWS storage is Storage Gateway.

CLF-C02 Question 6 of 10

A company must migrate exabytes of data to AWS — far more than Snowball devices are meant to carry. Which service is designed for that scale?

Answer: A — AWS Snowmobile

AWS Snowmobile is an exabyte-scale data transfer service — a shipping container of storage moved by truck — for data volumes beyond what Snowball handles. Why not the others: Snowball covers terabytes to petabytes. DataSync moves data online, impractical at exabyte scale. A console upload is out of the question. Exabytes points to Snowmobile.

CLF-C02 Question 7 of 10

Which service helps you set up and govern a secure, multi-account AWS environment based on best practices — a guided 'landing zone'?

Answer: A — AWS Control Tower

AWS Control Tower sets up and governs a secure, multi-account environment with best-practice guardrails — a managed landing zone built on services like Organizations. Why not the others: CloudWatch monitors, Config records configuration, and IAM manages access. Guided multi-account setup and governance is Control Tower.

CLF-C02 Question 8 of 10

Which service is used to build interactive business-intelligence dashboards and visualisations from your data?

Answer: A — Amazon QuickSight

Amazon QuickSight is AWS's business-intelligence service for dashboards and visualisations. Why not the others: CloudWatch visualises operational metrics, not business data. Cost Explorer visualises spend specifically. Athena queries data but does not build BI dashboards. Business dashboards are QuickSight.

CLF-C02 Question 9 of 10

A company wants to connect several VPCs and its on-premises networks through a single central hub, instead of many point-to-point links. Which service fits?

Answer: A — AWS Transit Gateway

AWS Transit Gateway acts as a central hub that connects multiple VPCs and on-premises networks, replacing a tangle of point-to-point connections. Why not the others: an internet gateway connects one VPC to the internet. CloudFront is content delivery. Route 53 is DNS. A central network hub is Transit Gateway.

CLF-C02 Question 10 of 10

A company wants to automatically extract key phrases and sentiment from large amounts of customer feedback text. Which service fits?

Answer: A — Amazon Comprehend

Amazon Comprehend is the natural-language-processing service that finds key phrases, entities and sentiment in text. Why not the others: Rekognition analyses images and video, Transcribe converts speech to text, and Translate converts between languages. Understanding written text is Comprehend.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the current CLF-C02 format?
Yes — these questions follow the CLF-C02 exam guide (2026 edition). This second set leans into the wider service map — analytics, AI and networking — that the exam names at a recognition level. The exam is 65 questions in 90 minutes, passing at 700 out of 1000.
Are these real exam questions?
No. They are our own questions, written in the style and difficulty of the exam. Reproducing real exam items violates the AWS certification agreement and can get your certification revoked, and a memorised item teaches you nothing about the one you have not seen.
Why does this set feel harder than the first?
It deliberately reaches into services people revise last — AI/ML, analytics, hybrid storage and networking — because the real exam names them too. The Cloud Practitioner does not ask you to use them, only to recognise what each one is for. If several were unfamiliar, that is a coverage gap worth closing.
How should I read my result on a full-length exam?
Check the total against 700, then look at where the misses cluster by domain — that names what to fix. Use the 85 percent signal: if you are not comfortably above the pass mark under exam conditions, you are not ready yet. And confirm you can say why the wrong options were wrong.

Updated for CLF-C02 (July 2026). The sample questions above are our own work in the style of the exam — not real exam items. The exam itself is set and marked by the certification body.
